Coaching Beyond Words

Speakers: Marlene Boas, Ph.D., BCC and Ed Boas

As coaches we regularly ask our clients to go outside their
comfort zones, explore new ways of looking at things, find
practices that are energizing and motivating, expand their
experiences in order to increase their realm of possibilities;
we push, we pull, we support, we challenge.

But how often do we do the same for ourselves?

Join ICF Pittsburgh member Marlene Boas and her husband, Ed for
a powerful rhythm based event that will propel your ideas of
coaching beyond words and into new territory. Marlene and Ed
use group drumming as a vehicle for corporate training in
leadership, team cohesion, alignment, balance, diversity,
innovation and more. Experience the power of facilitated
group drumming and how it can enhance your coaching by
encouraging: presence, taking risks, going with your gut,
listening attentively, using metaphor, challenging assumptions,
and promoting active experimentation. These are just a few
coaching competencies to be addressed.

In this highly interactive workshop everyone will get a drum
and together we will make “music in the moment”. You’ll be
astounded at what we can create. Absolutely no musical experience
necessary! Its great fun and you’ll be energized and engaged.

From this informative, interactive session, participants will:

* Improve their active listening skills via nonverbal/nontraditional
communication experience
* Improve their “coaching presence” by experimenting and responding
spontaneously within the group
* Explore alternative ideas and activities to encourage
self discovery
